We are proud to announce that the first ophthalmic gene therapy in Switzerland has been performed in the Eye Clinic of the University Hospital Basel.

The gene therapy is available for patients with Leber congenital amaurosis and retinitis pigmentosa caused by mutations in the RPE65 gene – one out of 280 known disease genes that can cause retinal dystrophies.
