Dr. Maximilian Pfau receives prestigious 2023 Ophthalmologica Lecture Award!
At the annual meeting of the European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA) 2023, IOB's Priv.-Doz. Dr. Maximilian Pfau was honored with the prestigious 2023 Ophthalmologica Lecture last October 7th.
This accolade is presented to a young European ophthalmologist and clinician-scientist under the age of 40 who has exhibited exceptional research talent and is poised to make significant contributions to the field of retinal research.
In his lecture, Dr. Pfau outlined three pivotal facets that promise to enhance future clinical trial design in retinal research:
(1.) leveraging natural-history data and patient-specific pre-treatment data,
(2.) focusing on structural changes at the leading disease front., and
(3.) including hypothesis-driven visual function endpoints.
