Two IOB scientists receive the Swiss OpthAward 2024

Congratulations to Mathieu Quinodoz and Fiona Müllner who both won the Swiss OphthAward 2024.

The Swiss OphthAward recognizes young researchers for their contributions to ophthalmology and related fields. 

Fiona Müllner received the Swiss OphthAward in the category “Best Experimental Paper” for her work on thalamic inhibitory interneurons and their role in processing visual features published in Neuron this year.

Mathieu Quinodoz received the Swiss OphthAward in the category Highest Clinical Relevance for his research on detecting DNA copy-number variations in hereditary disease and cancer published in the American Journal of Human Genetics (2024). 

The 12th edition of the Swiss OphthAward was celebrated at a vibrant networking event on August 29, 2024, during the 117th Annual Congress of the Swiss Ophthalmological Society in St. Gallen.
