The Genetic Epidemiology group investigates genetic and environmental causes of eye diseases.
The research themes of the genetic epidemiology of ophthalmic diseases group are the genetic causes and the epidemiology of four eye disorders: myopia, age-related macular degeneration, primary open-angle glaucoma, and retinal dystrophies. The group focuses on the identification of genetic causes of eye disorders, environmental risk factors, gene-environment interaction, phenotyping of eye disorders including imaging, prognostic modeling, pathway annotation, and functional studies.
