Human Organoid Platform

The human organoid platform generates patient-derived retinal organoids to accelerate gene therapy development.

The human organoid platform generates highly organized human retinal and other organoids from human skin or blood cells in vitro. These organoids are often the starting points for developing gene therapies for patients. The platform can generate tens of thousands of organoids for high throughput screening. The platform generates human retinal organoids, human retinal organoids with microglia, human retinal organoids with choroid vessels, and human retinal pigment epithelium. These organoids are generated from both healthy humans as well as from patients with different genetic diseases. The platform collaborates with other groups and platforms to advance the development of therapies for a variety of different eye diseases.
