Protein Engineering Platform

IOB’s protein engineering platform gives researchers access to highly specific binders to develop therapies for eye diseases.

Over the last decades, protein binders have enabled the development of truly targeted therapies. The protein engineering platform at IOB provides researchers access to highly specific protein binders. These binders are used to develop therapies targeted to specific cell types that are relevant to eye diseases.

The core of the platform is a semi-automated selection workflow of protein binders from synthetic combinatorial libraries by in-vitro display methodologies. Selection outputs are characterized to identify specific, biophysically stable, high-affinity binders targeting diverse target epitopes that serve as therapeutic lead molecules.

Additionally, the platform aims to assist scientists in all protein-related needs such as, e.g. protein expression and purification, characterization of protein-protein interactions, affinity/stability improvement of binder-leads, structure determination/modeling.
